Not that anyone is interested, but over lunch I took a look at the books I have read over the past 18 months. Reading is the key to education and enlightenment. Knowledge is there to be had in the pages of nearly any book you pick up. So, just a glimpse at some of the titles that have influenced me recently:
“Unlock Congress” by Michael Golden, currently reading it.
“Climate Shock” by Wagner and Weitzman.
“The Martian” by Andy Weir.
“Star Wars Heir to The Jedi” by Kevin Hearne.
“Station Eleven” by Emily St. John Mendel.
‘Space Chronicles” by Neil deGrasse Tyson.
“Redeployment” by Phil Klay.
“The Water Knife” by Paolo Bacigalupi.
“The Liberation Trilogy” (all three of them) by Rick Atkinson.
“Five Billion Years of Solitude” by Lee Billings.
“The End of Night” by Paul Bogaard.
“Surprised by Hope” by N.T. Wright.
“Deception Point” by Dan Brown.
“The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History” by Elizabeth Kolbert.
“Starship Century” by Gregory and James Benford
After “Unlock Congress” I intend to plow through “Hunter Killer” by LtCol Mark McCurley and then maybe “Lights Out” by Ted Koppel. “The Second Amendment, A Biography” by Michael Waldman is also on my radar.
And of course there are several Star Wars novels which I should try and read in the next month before the movie comes out.
