Finishing up Episode 6 of Season 6 of The Walking Dead right now, then plan on tuning into the Democratic Debate out of Flint MI tonight. I know much of the subject matter they will touch about, but I am gonna be listening for one key item that the Republican’s refuse to even discuss. Climate Change.
Yeah, you know me. You know how I feel. You know how important a subject I think this is. Let’s leave, for just a second, the issue of if Humankind had anything to do with it. I know that is a problem for you deniers out there. After all, the weather changes every day, right? Let’s look at rising temperatures, increasing sea levels and more numerous droughts and storms. Now, don’t think of their affects on you, sitting in your middle America home.
Think of their affects from a National Security Standpoint.
A recently released study revealed that the Mediterranean is only barely coming out of the worst drought in 900 years. Syria was affected by this, and they are STILL affected, as they are yet to recover from this mega drought. Do you think that played any part of the collapse of their economy, which led to rebellion, which led to the mess we are in now? Maybe a little.
Think about this on a global scale. Think about this in the middle of the GD USA. Yeah. That’s right.
Climate change is in Pentagon terms a “threat multiplier.” You take a bad place and a bad situation, then you turn up the heat. You take away the food source, you remove the water supply. And then you have millions of people on the move, looking for better ground.
